About the Bonus Card
The Bonus Card is an individually created bank card with the possibility to put the logo of your company, the employee’s first name and surname as well as the limit for meals allocated by the employer on the card. Depending on your motivation system, the Bonus Card can be issued to the employee at the start of the employment or upon achieving certain results. The card limit is individually applied by the employer and, at the discretion of the employer, can be changed – increased or reduced – at any time.
The employee will not have to worry about not being able to pay with this card at a particular place of catering. It can be used in any of the more than 4,000 restaurants or cafes in Latvia that accept bank payment cards and meet the criteria of a catering company, namely, those which offer on-site prepared food.

Therefore, companies provide employees with lunch cards, subscriptions to sports clubs and the like because such bonuses are perceived and appreciated by employees differently than just money.
How can I be sure that the employee will not use the card for other expenses?
A bonus card with a paid lunch can be used at any place of catering where bank payment cards are accepted and which are related to the provision of catering services. Currently, there are at least 4,218 places in Latvia that meet these criteria. The Bonus Card does not allow for withdrawing cash from ATMs or to pay at other marketplaces or on the Internet, unless the employer has decided to give employees the opportunity to also pay for sports, health or other items of expenditure.
What is the minimum and maximum limits of the Bonus Card?
There is no restriction – the company can assign any limit.
Is 40 euros a month enough for an employee to eat or can I pay more?
The employer will be able to assign any limits to the Bonus Cards. Employees with a standard schedule of 20-22 working days usually spend an average of 70-80 euros per month for lunch. Employers can also put on the card any necessary amount, of which 40 euros will not be taxed.
How fast can a new personalised card can be ordered and created?
The initial process of the company registration in the bank can take up to a couple of weeks, but producing a new card is quick and easy – you can get it within a few working days from the moment of the submitted application.
Can a similar card be used for other bonuses, e.g. for paying for a sports club?
Yes, the employer can also choose to order the Bonus Card for another purpose. This card can be used at any point of settlement where bank payment cards are accepted and which corresponds to the range of service providers determined by the employer.
